Thanks a Million 2025

We’re proud to be donating another £1million worth of laser eye surgery, not only to NHS & Emergency Service Workers, but for Carers this year too!

We want to improve the lives of so many hardworking people who work tirelessly to keep us safe. We are delighted that we can contribute to giving them the thanks they deserve.

Over the last 35 years Optical Express have supported hundreds of philanthropic endeavours, donating over £30 million to worthwhile causes in the UK and internationally.

Thanks A Million Terms & Conditions:

1. Entries close on 23rd March 2025. Entries made after this date will not be considered.

2. Successful applicants will be chosen at random and notified by email.

3. Following the confirmation email, successful applicants will be contacted via the telephone number provided on their application form. Three attempts will be made to contact successful applicants by telephone.

4. Following three unsuccessful call attempts, an email will be sent to the email address provided on the applicant’s application form.

5. Within 14 days of the above email being sent, if a successful applicant is uncontactable on the contact information provided by them on their application form, they will forfeit their opportunity to receive free treatment. In this instance, another applicant will be randomly selected.

6. All successful applicants must complete the Optical Express Informed Consent process as per normal protocol and are subject to our standard laser eye surgery terms and conditions. This includes attending a free consultation at an Optical Express clinic to determine clinical suitability for laser eye surgery, as determined at consultation by an Optical Express Optometrist and Ophthalmic surgeon.

8. For refractive consultations we apply a £50 non-attendance fee to consultations booked to take place on a Saturday or Sunday at all clinics, and 7 days a week in selected clinics. The £50 fee will be processed on your chosen payment card for non-attended consultation appointments and consultation appointments which are cancelled or rescheduled at short notice. Terms and conditions apply. There is no fee applied to attended consultations.

7. All successful applicants must bring and present valid ID for their profession in either NHS, Fire or Police emergency services or proof of their caring role such as a valid National Carer ID Card, Carers Allowance Letter or GP Registration Letter. Optical Express reserves the right to withdraw offer of free treatment to any applicant who does not provide satisfactory ID to the company.

8. The final decision for treatment rests with the Ophthalmic surgeon and non-candidates will not be treated. Optical Express will not enter into correspondence for applicants who are not deemed clinically suitable for treatment.

9. The treatment offered to applicants deemed clinically suitable is free and no purchase is necessary.

10. The treatment offered will be our most advanced laser eye surgery. The total value of all donated laser eye treatment is £1 million. Individual treatment value is dependent on clinically suitable candidates’ prescriptions. No cash or other alternatives are available.

11. Treatment must be carried out by 31st December 2025. Successful candidates will be offered a selection of dates for surgery before 31st December 2025. Any treatments not booked and carried out before this date will be deemed forfeited.

12. If treatment is cancelled by the successful candidate they will forfeit their opportunity to receive free treatment.

13. Only the named applicant who entered the Thanks a Million initiative can be treated and treatment is non-transferable.

14. If an applicant fails to attend their initial consultation without informing Optical Express and rescheduling their appointment they will forfeit their opportunity of free treatment. A £50 non-attendance fee may also apply. (See point 8)

15. Optical Express will not pay for or reimburse any costs or charges associated with clinic appointments before and after surgery and on treatment day itself. This includes but is not limited to; travel, parking and hotel stays.

16. Post-surgery you will be required to provide a video testimonial which will feature alongside your photograph on our website and within other PR activity. Please email your video testimonial to marketingsupport@opticalexpress.com or upload to here no later than 3 months from your surgery date. Optical Express reserves the right to invoice the total cost of treatment to any applicant that does not provide a video testimonial within the specified timescale.

17. Successful applicants consent to sharing their stories via a case study for PR and news purposes, which will be shared online, on the company website(s), on social media and in regional and national press. This will include name and image.

18. Optical Express Ltd reserves the right to review and revise these rules without giving you prior notice. By booking a consultation as part of our Thanks a Million initiative, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and any changes as and when they occur.

19. Open to UK residents only, aged 18 and over.
